As a Georgetown KY family photographer, I love seeing families year after year and watching how much can change in just a few months. This sweet crew is usually in front of my camera in November during Santa sessions at the studio. It’s a magical and slightly nerve-wracking time for little ones.Meeting the real Santa Claus can be a big deal!

But this time, we took things outside for an April family session, and it was pure magic.

Elliot, their preschooler, truly came alive. She was chatty, full of stories, completely fascinated by the bugs, and more than happy to twirl in her dress every chance she got. The wide-open space, warm air, and lack of Santa-shaped pressure gave her the freedom to just be. And that’s where the magic happens. In the in-between moments of curiosity, laughter, and sweet cuddles.

Amanda (mom) and I teamed up to style the session, which I always love! Her gorgeous dress is from my client closet, and yes — it’s available for all of my family session clients. I sent over a few coordinating pieces for the kids, and Elliot’s adorable twirl-friendly dress is part of the closet too. Everything came together so effortlessly, and the results speak for themselves.

April is seriously underrated when it comes to family photos in Georgetown. The temps are comfortable, the trees are blooming, and your kids can run wild without breaking a sweat. It’s the perfect mix of spring energy and golden light.
